Alderhey Trust turns to Medisec

An NHS Trust has welcomed new software aimed at speeding up correspondence between hospitals and GP surgeries.

Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital NHS Trust has agreed to pilot the new software from Cheshire based healthcare company Medisec Software, which aims to streamline the transfer of patient information between GPs and hospitals.

The cutting edge software stores and downloads patient information from a hospital’s Patient Administration System, while automating routine administration tasks. By generating clinical attendance letters and discharge summaries electronically, the system cuts the length of time between a patient leaving hospital and the GP receiving the relevant clinical update.

As well as significantly improving the content and presentation of correspondence across different departments, the centralised approach also gives medical secretaries instant access to the latest patient information, such as clinic attendance, future appointments, admissions and test results.
