Doncaster and Bassetlaw look to the future with speech recognition

Following the successful rollout of digital dictation integrated into Medisec Software’s workflow and clinical correspondence system,  Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are breaking new ground with the development of a collaborative Medisec and TalkingPoint speech recognition module.

The project, driven by a team made up of clinicians, Service Improvement and IT is the logical next step for the Trust to take in striving to meet locally imposed targets to deliver clinical correspondence to GPs in a timely fashion.

The implementation of digital dictation has already slashed the time it takes for letters to reach GPs and the inclusion of speech recognition offers a great opportunity for the Trust to ensure patient care is not compromised by poor communications.
